I finally threw it in the trash. When it’s placed close enough to the edge of the refrigerator shelf to pour correctly, if you don’t push it back farther the door shelves open the faucet and the refrigerator and freezer below it fill with water. This is the 4th time and I’m done with it. Maybe it’s just a bad design for my particular refrigerator but what a mess!

I am looking to replace bottled water and thought I had found the perfect solution in the Pur 2 Stage Water Dispenser based on the great reviews — and on sale, to boot! However, when I went to the PUR website to get more detail on the product, noticed that although their filters take out more impurities than the Brita’s, they also ADD a toxin, fluoride…?!?! And this is on top of any fluoride that may already be in your community supply, because the website says it doesn’t filter that out. Why not save themselves (and the consumers) the $$$ and stick to taking things out, not putting stuff in? What the heck are they thinking?!
Luckily, I caught this before I ordered, and saved myself the return. Will keep shopping.

what the point of using this filter or brita filter…if they DO NOT remove CHLORINE, DO NOT remove ALUMINUM?????
Both filters only REDUCE TASTE of chlorine. And Aluminum they don’t even touch, because FLUORIDE is “beneficial”..!!??
“BENEFICIAL” for WHAT????…for developing ALZHEIMERS ???
It has been proven for long time that FLUORIDE/ALUMINUM causes Alzheimers, and both companies insist on feeding our brains with aluminum ????
I suggest, start looking into the best water purifiers, like REVERSE-OSMOSIS, or OZONIZATION.
Now, ozonization is the absolutely BEST.
SPRING WATER from known sources NO DOUBT better than both brita and pur, as ANY spring water will never have any CHLORINE and NO FLUORIDE, because SPRING WATER is from underground sources.
Another option is DISTILLED WATER, which is also purified tap water: it’s has NOTHING, that’s what water is supposed to be.
Distilled water can also be bought in bottles, or made your own. Just search here on amazon…
so, to sum up:
1.OZONIZATION….produces purest water…BEST CHOICE!
2.SpringWater Ozonated….filtered, no chlorine, no aluminum…mostly in plastic bottles……OK!
3.Distilled Water…..purest water, nothing in it…..OK!
4.Reverse Osmosis Filter……quite expensive, but does the job.

This filter is Great for the most part and is way better then drinking water straight from the tap BUT as is says in the description I lets fluoride through the filtration.. Fluoride!! that is one of the most poisonous elements known to man. It is a neurological poison that destroys our basic thought synapses. Yes fluoride is in toothpaste but that is because you SPIT IT OUT.. Please don’t buy this it will make water that is still bodily damaging and will cause heath issues in the future.
If you don’t believe the danger of Florine please look up the Wikipedia article.

I have no idea whether this is a good filter or not. Mine was seriously damaged in shipment, despite the box appearing to be in good shape, so I haven’t had a chance to use it yet. My issue with this item is that it is made with very brittle plastic and has no packaging material or padding in the box itself. The top of my unit was literally shattered.
If this item is to be sold online, it must be packaged appropriately for shipping by the manufacturer, and it’s not. Fortunately, the sellers (Fridge Filters) responded immediately (off-hours!) and are sending out a replacement – possibly the fastest service I’ve ever had when reporting a problem. So while I can criticize the materials and packaging on this item, I give the sellers high marks for great customer service.
I’m a huge fan of buying online, but if this is as good a filter as the other reviews suggest, it should be purchased locally where it can be more easily inspected when purchased and returned if damaged.
